In April 2009 I travelled to Taos, New Mexico, funded by the Slade Dolbey Travel Scholarship. My initial reasons for going were to investigate a mysterious hum emanating from the landscape, a sound that both fascinates and plagues the local Taosenos. Whilst out there, however, I became increasingly interested by the place's unique sonic landscape and the recipricol relationship its inhabitants have with these sounds. The resulting body of work is a mixture of video, photography, sound and drawing that all seeks to foreground sounds on the periphery of our perception and understanding.
